Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right tattoo shop in Richmond?
Look at artists’ portfolios to find a style match, check recent Google reviews for patterns, and visit the studio if possible to assess cleanliness and communication. A good consultation where an artist listens to your ideas and explains the process is a strong sign of a professional shop.
What does a tattoo typically cost?
Cost varies widely depending on size, detail, placement, and the artist’s experience. Ask for a written estimate or quote during a consultation and discuss deposit, session length, and any aftercare supplies that might affect the final price.
What should I check before hiring a tattoo artist?
Review the artist’s recent portfolio for consistent quality, confirm the studio’s hygiene and sterilization practices, and verify that they follow local licensing and safety rules. Also ask about healing, aftercare, and any touch-up policies before committing.
